It could have been so worth seeing, but the pandemic now makes it impossible: Since numerous multihulls from the field of participants, for example from Scandinavia or the Netherlands, are not allowed to enter Germany until further notice, the “International Multihull Meeting” (IMM) in Bremerhaven has to be cancelled. From July 29 to August 1, about 100 owners from five countries wanted to meet in the seaside town to exchange information about their catamarans, trimarans and outrigger boats and to present them to an interested audience with numerous activities. The anticipation among the sailors was immense, because corona-conditioned the current sailing season is limited by severe restrictions throughout Europe. “The cancellation made by the German Multihull Association is a great pity, but absolutely understandable,” Dr. Ralf Meyer, as managing director of Erlebnis Bremerhaven GmbH, expresses his regret about the latest development. “We are now looking forward with anticipation to next summer, as the meeting will now take place in Bremerhaven from July 21 to July 24, 2022.” For the application, Erlebnis Bremerhaven GmbH has something special in mind: “Together with the IMM22 organizer, we will go to the “boot” trade fair in Düsseldorf and present the special harbor experience of our seaside city to a large professional audience there,” says Dr. Ralf Meyer.
